Course program

Introduction: Yoga as an Art and Self-Improvement Element

  • Explaining Yoga to children as a set of physical and breathing exercises that help maintain the body in a healthy state and have good posture.
  • Emphasizing the importance of caring for one's body, maintaining a straight spine, and tuning into internal sensations.
  • Explaining the necessity and systematic nature of the developmental course, its goals, and objectives.

Theme 1. Strengthening Physical State

  • Understanding the concept of human physical state.
  • The structure of a human: Body, Soul, and Mind.
  • Order and discipline.
  • Exploring the connection between good coordination, flexibility, balance in the body, and a happy mood.
  • Performing breathing exercises and learning poses: Pretzel, Peace, and Airplane.

Theme 2. Improving Memory and Concentration Ability

  • Yoga allows children to focus their attention on bodily sensations, monitor the flow of thoughts, and concentrate on internal states.
  • Focusing and understanding the current thought.
  • Discussing and feeling one's mood.
  • Performing flexibility exercises.

Theme 3. Developing Body Awareness

  • What is mindfulness.
  • What is a conscious person?
  • How does mindfulness affect the quality of life.
  • Understanding the concept of controlling one’s life.
  • A mindful person is a healthy person.
  • Performing breathing exercises and learning poses: Cobra, Elephant, Kitty.

Theme 4. Reducing Stress and Anxiety, Improving Sleep

  • Relaxation and peace.
  • Joy hormones.
  • The relationship between exercises and sleep quality.
  • How regular exercise reduces aggression and anxiety in teenagers, decreases behavioral deviations, and promotes higher test performance.
  • Performing breathing and body flexibility exercises.

Theme 5. Improving Self-Regulation

  • Self-regulation is the ability to recognize and change one's behavior, thoughts, and emotions depending on the situation.
  • Providing examples from each participant's personal experience.
  • Yoga sessions enhance this ability, teaching children to understand and manage their emotions.
  • Performing exercises: Yoga Alphabet.

Course objective:

To introduce children to yoga as an element of self-improvement and art. Teaching children to understand and appreciate their bodies, develop their ability to concentrate, feel their inner self, improve their physical condition and understanding of their spiritual world. To develop skills of self-regulation, stress reduction, body awareness and spiritual harmony.
