A young man named Frank Adler lives on the coast of Florida and raises a seven-year-old girl named Mary. The unfortunate girl's mother recently died and the only person who took her in was her uncle. Frank does everything for his little relative. Sometimes his friend Roberta helps him. According to the plot of the movie "The Gifted", when Mary went to school, everything changed dramatically. Her first school teacher Bonnie noticed that the little girl had phenomenal math skills. Immediately, everyone in the school learned that Frank was not the girl's real father. The teachers write an appeal to the guardianship service. The girl's grandmother wants to take her granddaughter away from her son and believes that she knows better how to raise her. According to the woman, the child should go to a specialized school to develop her talent. Frank is very attached to Mary and does not want to agree to this proposal. The documents are submitted to the court, which must decide the fate of the custody. It's clear that an unmarried guy has virtually no chance of winning a lawsuit, but he doesn't want to part with his beloved Mary.
