Ostwind - Zusammen sind wir frei is based on the life story of a teenage girl. The problems that the film's director, Katja von Garnier, brought to the public are close to everyone and touch the deepest strings of the soul. Young, 14-year-old Mickey, like many teenagers, did not devote too much time to her studies, and her parents, hoping for a strict grandmother, send her to the farm. However, contrary to her parents' expectations, the girl finds something more interesting to do than boredom with books. Mickey's grandmother owns a stable, but that's not even the point. In a separate barn, the girl finds a stallion as black as the night itself. Freedom-loving as life itself, untamed as a tornado, free as the east wind itself. The girl feels an invisible connection between her and the beautiful animal. Ignoring the warnings that no one has ever been able to tame the East Wind, one night she sneaks into the barn. Thus, a friendship is forged between Mickey and the wayward horse. The girl is sure that she can tame freedom itself. But what do others think?
